When I first built GHF I built it because me and my friends felt that there wasn't really a good place online to discuss modern electronic music, or the production of this music. Since then music has evolved quite a bit. I still love Glitch Hop like the day I first heard it, but I also like a lot of other forms of modern electronic music. I never intended on GHF being a place that was restrictive of what sort of music people could share and discuss, but over the years it has become this. People started to feel that it was inappropriate to discuss other forms of bass music, and this is simply bad!
So I decided it was time to switch domains. I wanted the space to become something more universal, that embraces all forms of bass heavy electronic music.
GHF was running on a very old, dinosaur era bulletin board system called PHPBB. It had a million downsides, and not really a whole lot of upsides. So we decided it was high time we switched to some better software. Meet discourse. Discourse is really awesome! It might seem a bit confusing at first, but you will get the hang of it quickly!
Your existing user logins should still work!
Simply use the same username and password as you used at GHF to sign in. If your username had a space in it, you will need to replace the space with an underscore (_). If this still doesn't work, try using the email address you signed up with instead. If you are still having trouble signing in with your old account, send me an email at deweydb at the name of the old forum.com
All your threads, posts and private messages should have been transferred over. but if you notice something is missing, please let an admin or moderator know.
It looks like some avatars got lost in the process, so if your avatar is missing, please edit your profile and upload a new one.
There is a bit of a glitch with the old format for soundcloud embeds. We're working on fixing this, if you notice it in some of your posts where your soundcloud embed is showing up with the full BBCODE tag, simply edit the post, and just put only the soundcloud link. Upon saving the post, discourse will turn the soundcloud link into a player, automagically. This is one of the great things about discourse!
We are going to retain the old Glitch Hop Forum for a couple months just incase anything got lost in the transition. You can get to it here: http://legacy.glitchhopforum.com
Please don't make new posts there, it will get deleted eventually!
We understand the the design & logo of this new site isn't tip top perfect just yet. We are actually looking to hire a developer who is familiar with creating themes for discourse, so if you are in need of work, and have the toolset please contact me (knowing ruby is a must).
