Hey guys, it's ya boi Dr. Doctor back in da house, live and reloaded!!
I've been away from the Glitch Hop Forum for some time now only to find out that it no longer exists!
BUUUUUUT, I'm loving the new site. It's got great functionality, flow, and to my surprise, all of the old posts from GHF!
Originally, I intended to go back to GHF to download my Ableton Midi Scales device I had posted in the Ableton Device Presets section. I was immediately awed, saddened, and scared when I saw the new BassMusic.io title along with the new layout and all that jazz. I figured BassMusic had probably bought the GHF's domain address and used it as a forwarding link to bring people to some other website. I was and still am STOKED to find out that all of the posts from GHF were still here, along with my Scales presets, and that the awesome community that was once GlitchHop Forum can still connect, create, and expand under the new and improved BassMusic.io.
Sorry, I know this isn't anything new to you guys, but its all new and exciting information to me. I'm stoked to have been apart of what it used to be and even happier to be apart of where its going now!
For those who may recognize me from the old days:
I'm back. I've had to take care of many different things in my life so I could (more comfortably) focus on what I love: Music.
WHERE I'M AT CURRENTLY:
I'm working closely with an amazingly talented freestyle rapper.. basically been living at his house for the last 3 months (seriously).. producing beats, recording vocals, mixing & mastering, web design, etc etc. Get this: he set up a studio in his house (iMac, Monitors, Ableton 9 Suite, Maschine 2, interfaces, sound proofing, closet vocal booth, Axiom air 49 midi keyboard, Maschine Studio controller, some device that cuts out the buzzing from the audio, mics, etc) but, he doesn't know how to use any of it. He just bought what people advised him to buy so when he found the right producer he could team up and finally unleash his skills on the world. That guy just so happens to be me, your boi, the doc. And the icing on the cake is: His alias is Mr. Raps, which is a helluva match for me. Dr. Doctor and Mr. Raps.
It feels like it was meant to be.
He flows to my beats all the time when I'm working on them, but we've yet to actually record his vocals and mix them into a track. I've got a set I'm DJing at in my hometown this coming Saturday and I'm going to start it off with a surprise performance featuring Mr. Raps and have him flow to the first 20 minutes of my set that's been specially set up with him in mind.
We've never done anything like this before.. it's a very exciting time for the both of us. We have soooo many opportunities openly available to us in these next few months (including bigger festivals!) so this is a perfect situation for testing the waters and witnessing what we're capable of (and not capable of) with the amount of preparation and experience we both have, separately and as a duo.
There's more shit worth mentioning in my music world, but this has to suffice for now..
I'm getting tired of typing out all this bullsheezy, so in a nutshell, these are other goals I'm aiming towards:
- Successfully dropping an album and start touring frequently with my partna Mr. Raps.
- Creating my own record label/production company: LostCause Productions.
- Get my forum website out of its beta phase and into the light for everyone to see and use.
- Offering Recording, Mastering, and Beat Production services.
- Host an online digital store for sample packs, Ableton devices, VST patches, etc.. made by myself and other producers that are interested in doing the same.
- Finding others that are passionate and motivated to help construct some of these ideas from the ground up.
I know its a tall order, but you need to dream big in order to do something big. I believe its possible..
and I also believe its time for me to switch my focus off of writing this post. Cause I'm fucking way done.. just excited to be back.
